We recently finished our work in an award-winning state-of-the-art robotic operating theatre. This facility, worth £6.5 million, will dramatically improve the surgical environment in our area. The modern facilities, designed with patient care in mind, are already benefiting numerous patients, according to consultant surgeon Anil Agarwal.
The new operating theatre has a purpose built recovery area. Agarwal says that this workflow will help them take better care of patients and transform the surgical process. This important advancement is one piece of a bigger plan. It’s an approach that includes building a new floor one story up off the ground, which beautifully spans an existing courtyard below to maximize both space and design flow.
Agarwal said he was excited by the progress achieved so far with the new facilities. He noted that “patients are already benefitting from the new operating theatres and now patient care and flow will improve with the new recovery area.” Finally, he underscored that these are real improvements and they will do much to improve the patient experience. They’ll help protect and foster health and safety for all theatre staff.
As Alison Coates, senior operations manager, pointed out, the project is highly ambitious. She stated, “To say it was ambitious is an understatement.” The fulfillment of this project marks the start of a new positive trend to improve surgical practices and processes within the national unique facility.
This award-winning operating theatre is at the forefront of improving surgical workflow. Second, it helps ensure that these patients receive the most comprehensive and highest-quality care. The investment reflects a commitment to advancing medical technology and improving outcomes for those undergoing surgery.
