Vestas Expands Global Reach with New Turbine Orders Across Multiple Countries

Vestas, the largest manufacturer of wind turbines in the world, has been in the news lately. The company said its recent large orders for wind turbines from customers around the world. This includes projects in Spain, Greece, Chile, Costa Rica, and South Korea, showcasing Vestas’ commitment to advancing renewable energy solutions. The new contracts highlight the firm’s deep experience. They put the spotlight on our talents across the board in designing, making, installing and servicing on-and-offshore wind turbines.

In Spain, Vestas won an order for six V150-4.5MW turbines, adding up to 27MW. The realization of these turbines’ delivery takes place in the third quarter of 2026. We still fully anticipate commissioning them by Q2 of 2027. This order is accompanied by a strong 20-year AOM 5000 AOM agreement. It’s a testament to their commitment to providing the very best performance for their customers over the long term.

New Projects in Greece and Chile

CNI SA, a Greek independent developer, has selected Vestas as the turbine supplier for its projects. They will deliver five V135-4.5MW and four V136-4.5MW turbines. These turbines will help power a total of 41MW in capacity among the Maratzaki, Pyrgaki, and Koromilia projects. As with the order above, the delivery and commissioning of these units are scheduled for 2026 under an eight-year AOM 4000 contract.

In what is a major step for wind into South America, Vestas won its first order into Brazil in August 2025. The unnamed customer ordered them for a record breaking 128MW wind farm in Chile. Delivery of these units is expected in the first half of 2026, with commissioning coming later that year. This order highlights Vestas’ continuing clout in the Latin American renewable energy sector.

Continued Growth in Other Regions

Interestingly, Vestas is having much more success outside of Europe and South America. The company is further deepening their engagement in Central America and now in Asia. In Costa Rica, the company will be installing five V117-4.3MW turbines, with a total capacity of 22MW. In South Korea, Youngduk Wind Power recently installed one of the world’s first floating wind farms. They subsequently commissioned seven V162-6.2MW turbine units for the first stage of a 43MW repowering project.

International leaders Vestas continues its stronghold as the world’s top renewable energy company, boasting activity in 88 countries. They should take credit for a wonderful 193GW of installed wind capacity all around the world. And their Active Output Management services greatly increase their capacity to service and support wind turbine installations. This encompasses the AOM 5000 and AOM 4000 contracts – providing for long-term service support and maintenance.
