Treaty Oak Clean Energy Launches Major Solar Projects in Louisiana

Treaty Oak Clean Energy has officially announced the commencement of construction on two significant solar projects in Louisiana: the Beekman Solar Project and the Hollis Creek Solar Project. The Beekman Solar Project in Morehouse Parish, La., has a whopping 185 megawatts alternating current (MWac) capacity. At the same time, the Hollis Creek Solar Project in nearby Sabine Parish goes even bigger with a capacity of 200 MWac. Combined, these projects will provide a punchy capacity of 385 MWac. This is a significant new investment in the region’s renewable energy future.

Both solar projects are expected to achieve commercial operations in the first half of 2027. This financial close on the Beekman Solar Project came in the last week of November 2025. In sharp contrast, the Hollis Creek Solar Project only recently closed financing last month. Combined, these projects will produce 1.4 gigawatts of renewable energy, enough to power more than 80,000 homes. This role will be critical to supporting local energy independence.

These projects are going to be a catalyst for Louisiana moving definitely into the renewable era. They always deliver huge economic benefits for the whole state, they claim. Together, the Beekman and Hollis Creek solar projects are projected to produce more than $100 million in state and local taxes. This impressive contribution will happen over their operational lifetimes. At peak construction periods, they are projected to sustain about 300 jobs, strengthening the local job market in the process.

Nextpower’s advanced, intelligent tracker technology will be used at both solar projects, which will further optimize the projects’ efficiency and energy production capabilities. The partnership further highlights Treaty Oak’s desire and ability to use cutting edge technology in their pursuit of renewable energy solutions.

“Closing the financing for these two projects during a challenging economic year for renewable energy projects underscores our strong business model and commitment to bringing energy independence to states like Louisiana.” – Chris Elrod, Treaty Oak CEO

Elrod said he was proud of the collaborative efforts that have led to these projects being realized. He appreciated the depth of commitment of his units. He concluded by thanking the financing partners, suppliers, and vendors who brought these projects to life.

“I am incredibly proud of our teams and grateful to our financing partners, suppliers, and vendors for their collaboration in making these projects a reality while supporting our commitment to build a US-based supply chain for our customers.” – Chris Elrod, Treaty Oak CEO
