Treaty Oak Clean Energy Launches Major Solar Projects in Louisiana

Treaty Oak Clean Energy has announced the commencement of construction on two significant solar power facilities in Louisiana: the Beekman Solar Project and the Hollis Creek Solar Project. Collectively, these projects will provide a total of 385 megawatts alternating current (MWac) of capacity. Our Beekman Solar Project in Morehouse Parish adds a strong 185 MWac of rubber-hitting-the-road renewable energy that stretches across the state. For perspective, the Hollis Creek Solar Project in Sabine Parish adds 200 MWac to that total—so far.

Back to the Beekman Solar Project – with that amendment, this project was able to complete its financial close in late November 2025. Only a month prior, the Hollis Creek Solar Project closed its financing. Both projects are scheduled to begin commercial operations in the first half of 2027. This huge milestone is an important step in Louisiana’s long overdue transition to renewable energy.

Together, the energy produced by these two solar plants will power an estimated 80,000 homes. This powerful contribution supercharges the local energy market. It’s a testament to Treaty Oak’s commitment to greater energy independence for all Texans.

As Chris Elrod, CEO of Treaty Oak said about the importance of these projects,

“Closing the financing for these two projects during a challenging economic year for renewable energy projects underscores our strong business model and commitment to bringing energy independence to states like Louisiana.”

Beyond their positive environmental impacts, each of the solar power facilities will foster investment and economic development in the region. Combined with the expected eventual spending on direct construction periods, that creates about 300 permanent jobs, delivering essential employment to hard hit local communities.

The winning projects commit to providing over $100 million net new state and local taxes during their operating lifetimes. This historic investment will improve all public services in and around these new Morehouse and Sabine Parishes. Most importantly, it will drive local infrastructure improvements craters.

Nextpower has been chosen to provide tracker technology for both solar projects, increasing their efficiency and energy production capabilities. Elrod said their success was due to the extensive collaboration and communication that made these projects possible, adding,

“I am incredibly proud of our teams and grateful to our financing partners, suppliers, and vendors for their collaboration in making these projects a reality while supporting our commitment to build a US-based supply chain for our customers.”
