Treaty Oak Clean Energy Launches Construction of Major Solar Projects in Louisiana

Treaty Oak Clean Energy has formally begun construction on two large solar power plants in Louisiana. The new initiative is one of the most notable steps forward for the Garden State’s renewable energy scene. Developed for Entergy Louisiana LLC, the Beekman Solar Project is a 185-megawatts alternating current (MWac) solar installation located in Morehouse Parish. At the same time, the Hollis Creek Solar Project — at 200 MWac capacity — is in Sabine Parish. Collectively, these interesting projects will be providing a combined 385 MW of capacity.

The Beekman Solar Project reached financial close in late November 2025. The Hollis Creek Solar Project just closed its financing last month. Both projects are now moving full speed ahead toward achieving commercial operations in the first half of 2027.

These trends mark an important transformation in Louisiana’s energy production. They are reshaping the economic landscape in Louisiana. Further, during their operational lifetimes, the projects are expected to produce more than $100 million in new state and local income taxes. During construction peaks, they promise to create approximately 300 good local jobs. This calls attention to the incredible job creation power of the burgeoning renewable energy industry.

Together, the two solar facilities will generate enough energy to power more than 80,000 average American homes annually. This recent success is a testament to Treaty Oak’s commitment to increasing energy independence in the area.

Treaty Oak Clean Energy’s Chris Elrod, whose team financed three of these projects, celebrated the milestone. He emphasized their success even in a difficult economic climate for those developing renewable energy.

“Closing the financing for these two projects during a challenging economic year for renewable energy projects underscores our strong business model and commitment to bringing energy independence to states like Louisiana.” – Chris Elrod, Treaty Oak CEO

Elrod too was clearly proud of what his team has accomplished so far and grateful to their financing partners, suppliers and vendors.

“I am incredibly proud of our teams and grateful to our financing partners, suppliers, and vendors for their collaboration in making these projects a reality while supporting our commitment to build a US-based supply chain for our customers.” – Chris Elrod, Treaty Oak CEO

Nextpower will give its tracker technology to both solar installations, improving delivery’s efficiency and output.
