Treaty Oak Clean Energy Breaks Ground on Major Solar Projects in Louisiana

Treaty Oak Clean Energy has officially begun construction on two large-scale solar energy systems in Louisiana. It truly is a historic jump forward in the state’s renewable energy arena. Together, these projects will produce a strong cumulative capacity of 385 megawatts (MW). They represent a tremendous opportunity to grow local economies and provide widespread clean energy resources.

These two sister solar projects are located in Morehouse and Sabine Parishes. These projects will result in new renewable energy capacity and new investment in the region. The Beekman Solar Project has a highly efficient capacity of 185 MW alternating current (MWac). It most recently reached financial closure in late November 2025. In addition, the Hollis Creek Solar Project is no slouch in size—it has a capacity of 200 MWac. As recently as last month—in December 2025—it closed the deal on its financing. Both projects are expected to enter commercial operation in H1 2027.

These robust developments come with enormous economic benefits. Collectively, they’ve been projected to produce more than $100 million in new state and local taxes over their operational lifetimes. What’s more, each of the projects is estimated to create an average of 300 jobs at peak construction periods, delivering local jobs when they’re needed most. Once operational, the combined output from both solar plants is projected to meet the energy demands of around 80,000 homes.

Chris Elrod, CEO of Treaty Oak Clean Energy, made a strong case for their necessity. He emphasized their importance, particularly in today’s difficult economic climate for renewables.

“Closing the financing for these two projects during a challenging economic year for renewable energy projects underscores our strong business model and commitment to bringing energy independence to states like Louisiana.” – Chris Elrod, Treaty Oak CEO

Elrod was careful to share pride in his team’s accomplishments and gratitude to the partners that helped bring these projects to reality.

“I am incredibly proud of our teams and grateful to our financing partners, suppliers, and vendors for their collaboration in making these projects a reality while supporting our commitment to build a US-based supply chain for our customers.” – Chris Elrod, Treaty Oak CEO

Significantly, these solar facilities will exclusively use tracker technology supplied by Nextpower that will help increase their efficiency and energy output. As Louisiana continues to expand its renewable energy initiatives, these projects signify a strategic investment in sustainable infrastructure that aims to meet the growing demand for clean energy solutions.
