Treaty Oak Clean Energy Begins Construction on Major Solar Projects in Louisiana

Treaty Oak Clean Energy recently began mobilization on two large utility scale solar facilities in Louisiana. This is a huge step toward deploying more renewable energy capacity across the entire Southeastern region. The Beekman Solar Project and the Hollis Creek Solar Project are under development. When they all come online, together they will generate an amazing 385 megawatts (MW) of clean energy.

The Beekman Solar Project, situated in Morehouse Parish, has a capacity of 185 MW alternating current (MWac). This project celebrated financial closing in late November 2025. Completed in early 2019, the Hollis Creek Solar Project—which is also found in Sabine Parish—has a large capacity at 200 MWac. As of last month, the effort finally locked in its financing.

Both projects are expected to enter commercial operations in the first half of 2027. Combined, they will not only make a substantial contribution toward Louisiana’s renewable energy targets, but produce an impressive regional investment as well. During their operational lifetimes, they collectively will pay in state and local taxes more than $100 million.

Beyond addressing delays and enhancing safety, these projects will have a significant impact on the economy. At peak times of construction, they will create approximately 300 jobs. This local employment boost will jumpstart the economy during a challenging time and help fulfill Treaty Oak’s mission to provide communities with renewable energy.

Chris Elrod, CEO of Treaty Oak distilling, said that he was proud of what his company was able to accomplish, especially in tough economic times.

“Closing the financing for these two projects during a challenging economic year for renewable energy projects underscores our strong business model and commitment to bringing energy independence to states like Louisiana.” – Chris Elrod, Treaty Oak CEO

Elrod shined a light on the partnerships that brought these projects to life.

“I am incredibly proud of our teams and grateful to our financing partners, suppliers, and vendors for their collaboration in making these projects a reality while supporting our commitment to build a US-based supply chain for our customers.” – Chris Elrod, Treaty Oak CEO

Nextpower’s solar tracker technology is being deployed at both solar facilities, enabling them to increase efficiency and maximize energy production. The addition of this cutting-edge technology marks a long-term, innovative commitment to the future of sustainable energy generation.
