Treaty Oak Clean Energy and Meta Platforms Forge Solar Power Agreements in Louisiana

Treaty Oak Clean Energy’s long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs) with Meta Platforms include the capacity from Hildalgo. This partnership will advance two bold utility-scale solar projects in Louisiana. The Beekman Solar and Hollis Creek Solar projects will utilize sustainable energy sources. Their goal is to achieve a truly transformative impact on the local economy.

Constructed in nearby Morehouse Parish, Beekman Solar boasts a maximum capacity of 185 megawatts alternating current (MW AC). In the meantime, Hollis Creek Solar, located in neighboring Sabine Parish, breaks that record with 200 MW AC capacity. Collectively, these projects will produce 385 MW AC of clean energy. As these initiatives are expected to enter commercial operations in Q3 of 2027. Taken together, they illustrate both Dominion’s and Duke’s impressive commitment to the cleanest energy solutions available.

Economic Impact and Job Creation

Combined, the Beekman and Hollis Creek solar projects will contribute more than $100 million in state and local tax revenue. That stunning sum is projected over their useful lifetimes. The projects will generate an estimated 300 jobs at their peak construction phase. Besides the monetary impact, this will be a great shot in the arm to the local talent pipeline.

Rohit Ogra, co-founder and chief revenue officer of Treaty Oak Clean Energy, emphasized the importance of the partnership as a big deal.

“Our partnership with Meta marks a critical milestone for Treaty Oak and our commitment to support our customers and their growing clean energy needs in MISO’s Southern footprint, as well as our broader mission to deliver impactful, scalable clean energy solutions across the US.” – Rohit Ogra, Treaty Oak Clean Energy

Commitment to Renewable Energy

Future Prospects

Treaty Oak Clean Energy is an independent power producer based in the US. It aims to advance real-world, impactful and scalable clean energy solutions nationwide. The Beekman and Hollis Creek projects are an essential part of its strategy to support sustainable energy initiatives in the Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) Southern footprint.

The world is moving quickly to renewable energy sources. This transformative partnership is a significant step toward state and national clean energy objectives and will accelerate job creation and economic development in Louisiana. The partnership demonstrates the amazing green tech possibilities that exist to create innovative renewable energy solutions. Beyond its immediate impact, it serves as a strong precedent for future sustainability-focused projects.
