Suzlon and Jindal Renewables Expand Partnership for Major Wind Project in Karnataka

Renewable energy major Suzlon Energy Limited (NSEL) is increasing its collaboration with JSP Green Wind 1. This new subsidiary of Jindal Renewables will be very important to this big expansion. By their formalization in December 2024, their collaboration was well underway. In particular, it trains its lens on an impressive new wind power installation with a capacity of 302.4 MW. This smart village project is intentionally located in the Koppal district region of Karnataka, India. We plan to implement it soon on the ground in the neighboring Gadag district.

On April 24, 2025, Suzlon had a surprise up its sleeve. This critical milestone underscores the company’s commitment to increasing India’s renewable energy targets. This project is the second large Suzlon order from NTPC Green Energy in a span of eight months. As such, it’s a testament to the company’s growing clout in the nation’s clean energy transition.

Through this collaborative partnership, Suzlon will draw on its vast experience and knowledge to provide dependable energy solutions. The company has an ambitious plan to contribute towards India’s clean energy targets. The partnership with JSP Green Wind 1 improves Suzlon’s positioning as a trusted partner in the fast-evolving renewable energy sector.

“It shows our ability to deliver reliable solutions while supporting India’s clean energy goals. This partnership strengthens our role as a trusted partner in India’s renewable energy journey.”

Girish Tanti, vice-chairman of Suzlon Group, said that they were proud to be continuing the partnership with NTPC, adding that

“We are honoured to be a strategic partner in NTPC’s ambitious vision to accelerate India’s clean energy transition.”

Additionally, the wind energy project is helping NTPC Green Energy achieve its aims. Their goal is to increase their renewable energy portfolio to 60 GW by 2032. According to JP Chalasani, the CEO of Suzlon Group, securing substantial and high-quality projects within the public sector is a critical aspect of their growth strategy.

“Securing major and high-quality projects in the PSU sector is a key part of our growth strategy, and our order with NGEL highlights the success of this approach. As NGEL aims to expand its renewable energy portfolio to 60GW by 2032, this partnership lays a crucial foundation for showcasing the key role of wind in powering India’s largest PSU’s renewable journey by providing high-quality, affordable power,” said Chalasani.

Through this joint venture Suzlon and JSP Green Wind 1 are planning to change the landscape of sustainable energy in India. These winning projects will greatly boost the development of green technologies in the nation. Both companies are committed to increasing wind energy projects. Together, these initiatives seek to bolster India’s position as a global powerhouse in the clean energy movement.
