Objectives of the Partnership
The partnership’s primary objective is to develop up to 6GW of local energy capacity through the deployment of Ming Yang’s advanced wind turbines. Octopus Energy Generation has ambitions to use Ming Yang’s technology to improve its operational capabilities. This contract includes a novel approach to improve cybersecurity to protect wind turbines. We are deeply experimenting with the potential of powerful new software to help us do this better. These four projects combined will produce 140MW of renewable electricity annually. This energy will be enough to power about 45,000 homes each year. This campaign complements Octopus Energy Generation’s broader aim of growing its clean energy footprint. In fact, just a few weeks ago the company announced a $405 million solar investment in South Korea.
