Schroders, an independent global investment manager, has over 30 years of experience in mainland China. They have now signed another Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with CATL and Lochpine to work together on battery energy storage systems (BESS). Together, this partnership will help Europe’s transition toward net-zero emissions by rapidly increasing battery storage capacity around the continent.
The signing ceremony, pictured above, was held in Beijing, China, on the visit headed by UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer. And Schroders Group CEO Richard Oldfield flew the firm’s flag proudly at the International event. He was then followed by Lucy Rigby, the UK’s Economic Secretary to the Treasury, and senior representatives from CATL and Lochpine.
Schroders has established a strong presence in major international cities including Beijing, Chicago, Copenhagen, Dublin, Frankfurt, Hong Kong, London, Madrid, New York, and Shanghai. The firm’s unique blend of business intelligence and editorial excellence helps marketers connect with qualified professionals on 36 world-class media channels. This strategic partnership underlines Schroders’ commitment to sustainable investment and provision of profitable solutions for a sustainable planet.
Schroders, CATL, and Lochpine have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). Together, they will create up to ten gigawatt-hours of renewable energy storage capacity across Europe. In this partnership, CATL acts as the exclusive supplier of battery modules. They’ll apply their technological know-how to deepen the partnership and make progress toward energy objectives more efficiently.
“Accelerating Europe’s energy transition requires the deployment of significant amounts of capital,” said Richard Nourse, emphasizing the financial commitment necessary for such transformative projects.
The partnership involves the establishment of an investment platform focused on European Battery energy storage systems. With the rapid growth of demand for renewable energy and supporting technologies, this initiative helps to meet that challenge. Europe is still fully committed to reaching its ambitious climate goals.
