OX2, a Stockholm-based renewable energy developer, has just notched a big victory. They recently won a major asset management contract for a large portfolio of wind farms in the Nordic market. This deal, described as the “largest wind asset management portfolio contract to date” in the Nordics, underscores OX2’s growing influence in the renewable energy sector.
With a corporate workforce of around 500 employees, OX2 has a wealth of experience in operating wind assets in the Nordic markets. The company has found success in nine different verticals in Europe and Australia. Its robust portfolio includes 33 gigawatts (GW), which include development, construction, asset management and operations. This new contract will solidify OX2’s asset management portfolio as the largest in Scandinavia, with a total of 6.7 GW renewable energy projects managed.
Strategic Partnerships and Industry Leadership
Renewable Power Capital was OX2’s partner in making this recent agreement feasible. Miguel Pérez from Renewable Power Capital expressed confidence in OX2’s capabilities:
“We are pleased to be working with OX2 to manage our High Coast portfolio as it moves into the operational phase. OX2 has deep experience in managing Nordic wind assets, and we value their continued partnership.” – Miguel Pérez
This partnership furthers OX2’s reputation for best-in-class management of externally developed and built assets, now totaling 2.2 GW. The company’s established reputation in the industry makes it a trusted partner for renewable energy projects.
Beyond the wind assets, on which OX2 has found such success, the company is developing its solar and storage businesses. The company recently received Environmental Protection and Biodiversity Conservation (EPBC) approval for its 135 MW Muswellbrook solar and storage project in New South Wales, Australia. This project is mostly already in Idemitsu Australia’s hands. The strategically placed Muswellbrook project is located next door to the now closed Muswellbrook coal mine’s facilities, which shut down in 2022.
Commitment to Renewable Solutions
OX2 is dedicated to developing projects driven by the most innovative renewable solutions, hydrogen included. This focus demonstrates OX2’s commitment to be a thoughtful leader in the ongoing transition towards more sustainable energy sources. AGL was similarly granted EPBC approval for a second company project, the Summerville solar and storage project, in July 2025.
Lars Bryngelsson of OX2 expressed pride in securing the contract with Renewable Power Capital:
“We are very proud to once again earn the trust of Renewable Power Capital to manage their wind farms.” – Lars Bryngelsson
This sentiment underscores OX2’s commitment to upholding solid partnerships, while fostering growth and sustainability across the renewable energy ecosystem.
