Oklo and Vertiv Join Forces to Innovate Nuclear-Powered Data Centre Solutions

This collaboration aims to leverage Oklo’s fourth-generation small modular reactor technology and Vertiv’s advanced power and thermal management systems to create energy-efficient infrastructure tailored for AI factories and high-density computing environments.

For Jacob DeWitte, co-founder and CEO of Oklo, this partnership was foundational. He went on to say that it is intended to deliver clean, affordable power and energy-efficient cooling, and transformative infrastructure investments to communities. The duo’s next challenge is taking on modular designs. They’re designed to extend the habitat of burgeoning compute requirements, particularly from nextgen data centers that have become absolutely mission critical to enterprise continuity and success.

Collaboration Focused on Clean Energy Solutions

Under these terms, Oklo’s partnership with Vertiv focuses on the creation of reference designs for data centres powered by nuclear energy. This initiative aims to combine the clean energy generation capabilities of Oklo’s small modular reactors with Vertiv’s state-of-the-art power and thermal management systems. Together, they intend to create integrated solutions that optimize power and cooling for data centres, ensuring efficient operations while minimizing environmental impact.

“This agreement is about delivering clean power, energy-efficient cooling and infrastructure solutions purpose-built for AI factories, data centres and high-density compute,” DeWitte remarked. This serves as a strong proof point for the collaborative vision between the two companies to radically reshape the energy future of data centres.

Strategic Memorandum with Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power

In May 2025, Oklo solidified its commitment to advancing nuclear technology by signing a memorandum of understanding with Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power. This agreement aims to pace the worldwide deployment of Oklo’s fourth-generation small modular reactor technology.
