OEG Renewables’ Bluestream Wins Contract for Corrosion Protection at SylWin Alpha

OEG Renewables' Bluestream has secured a significant contract from TenneT for the retrofit installation of a corrosion protection system at the SylWin alpha offshore converter station in Germany. The project includes a comprehensive preliminary survey and installation process aimed at enhancing the station's durability and efficiency.

A preliminary survey will be conducted using a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) equipped with multibeam sonar. This advanced technology will perform visual inspections to assess the condition of the work area and identify any potential obstructions. The survey is a critical step in ensuring the success of the installation by providing detailed insights into the environment and challenges that may lie ahead.

The contract involves complex logistical operations, with the work to be carried out from a DP-2 dive support vessel, which is equipped with a walk-to-work system. A dedicated 24/7 offshore team, comprising divers, ROV pilots, and supervisors, will oversee the subsea installation process. Bluestream will be responsible for routing and securing subsea cables through the J-tube and installing three ICCP buoy-mounted anodes. Ensuring accurate positioning of the ICCP system around the jacket structure is a priority for the team.

Bluestream's commercial manager, Rutger Lieverse, expressed pride in TenneT's confidence in their capabilities and the opportunity to work on such a significant project.

“We are extremely proud of TenneT’s continued trust in Bluestream’s capabilities and honoured to be awarded the ICCP installation works at SylWin alpha.” – Rutger Lieverse

The project is another testament to Bluestream's expertise and commitment to delivering high-quality offshore solutions. The company's ability to execute complex subsea operations is further reinforced through this collaboration with TenneT.

“This project marks another milestone in our long-standing collaboration on subsea services, reinforcing our commitment to delivering excellence in offshore solutions.” – Rutger Lieverse
