Ecuador Nordex Group continues to take important steps in its global expansion and last month it achieved a turbine order in Ecuador. This latest strategic play is the company’s first step into Ecuador’s renewable energy market. Together with the corresponding projects in Poland, Nordex Group has so far announced confirmed contracts for 21 wind farms in Germany. Including this initiative, this brings their total capacity to 125.7 megawatts (MW).
The combined recent firm orders span all major turbine models. They include a mix of six N163/6.X, eleven N149/5.X, two N163/5.X and two N133/4.8 turbines. The company has signed to deliver 19 of its N149/5.X turbines to a wind farm in southern Ecuador. This contribution will increase the project’s capacity by an impressive 112 MW. The planned installation and delivery of these turbines is scheduled in 2026 and 2027. Combined, these projects will make a transformative impact on Ecuador’s renewable energy landscape.
Expanding Presence in Germany
By entering a partnership with wpd, Nordex Group strengthens its position in Germany. Wpd is one of the largest independent developers in the world, active in 33 countries. As a partnership, Trenton and JCP&L bring an outstanding project package of more than 125 MW. The collaboration demonstrates Nordex Group’s dedication to furthering innovative renewable energy advancements in Germany. With wind energy playing a crucial role in Germany’s energy transition, these installations will contribute to the country’s sustainability goals. The company’s depth of experience and expertise will surely help wpd’s efforts to find the best ways to harness the wind.
Service Commitment and Workforce
As part of the orders won, Nordex Group has added a 15-year premium service contract for turbine maintenance. This new agreement reaffirms the company’s focus and dedication to consistently providing the best-in-class performance from its wind turbines. It ensures consistency over their entire operational lifetime. Through its all-encompassing maintenance approach, Nordex Group seeks to improve efficiency and reduce downtime for its customers.
