INNIO Group and VoltaGrid Join Forces for Texas Power Plant Project

INNIO Group has partnered with VoltaGrid to support flexible, clean energy solutions. Together, they will provide technology for a new combined cycle power plant in Texas, USA. The Fort Collins station will eventually have a capacity of 104 megawatts. It will use the waste heat from 300 Jenbacher gas engines from INNIO’s Type J624 and Type J620 series. In December 2025, the two companies jointly made their announcement that they were both committed to successful delivery of pioneering energy solutions. They seek to serve the quickly developing needs of nation-wide artificial intelligence and high-performance computing data centers.

The partnership’s goal is to strengthen our energy infrastructure. This improvement is badly needed to accommodate demand from data centers, which have become a mainstay for AI-related technologies. INNIO’s advanced, climate-friendly gas engine technology powers this collaboration. Combined, they hope to create predictable on-site power solutions that work more effectively without conventional battery systems.

Nathan Ough, CEO of VoltaGrid, expressed optimism about the collaboration, stating, “This is a major step forward in building the energy backbone for the AI era. Together with INNIO, we are delivering a scalable, grid-grade solution that offers fast response and eliminates the need for batteries.” This collaboration underscores our commitment to bring innovative technology to the energy market. With the rapid increase of demand across the AI field, this combination is more important than ever.

The order deepens the cooperation between INNIO Group and VoltaGrid. They each want to reach the most engaged, relevant professionals possible, and to do that, they need an expansive network of 36 premium media platforms. This initiative combines business intelligence with editorial excellence to ensure that industry stakeholders are well-informed about advancements in power generation.

Olaf Berlien, president and CEO of INNIO Group, highlighted the significance of this order by stating, “This landmark order underscores the strength of INNIO’s technology and our commitment to power the growth of AI.” This collaboration promotes innovation and accelerates tech development. It’s a big win not only for consumers, but for a real commitment to sustainability and greater efficiency in energy production.

The partners hope to finish delivery of the gas engine units before 2028. This achievement will be no small feat, it will be a big milestone in their continuing pursuit to innovate the electric power sector. This partnership is an extremely important move towards being able to power future technology advancements. It also makes sure we maintain a reliable and sustainable energy supply.
