Ingeteam Partners with European Energy for Major Solar Projects in Australia

Ingeteam has recently won two contracts with European Energy to provide high-tech equipment for new solar farms on their way to Australia thanks to the bilateral. The contracts will see the supply of 77 inverters, from Ingeteam’s INGECON SUN Power B Series range. Lancaster and Mulwala solar farms to crop up in Victoria and New South Wales respectively. These projects are poised to make a tremendous impact on Australia’s renewable energy landscape.

Situated deep in the Murray-Darling Basin, the Lancaster and Mulwala projects are in line with Australia’s wider decarbonization efforts. All of these solar photovoltaic plants are scheduled to come online next year. Combined, their plans would produce more than 255 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of clean electricity annually. This output is enough to provide 54,000 homes nationwide with clean, renewable energy.

Ingeteam is known for having a robust pedigree in the solar industry. Last August, they delivered more than 1GW of solar power inverters and operation control systems to Acciona Energía for two US-based projects. The corporation has run a wholly-owned subsidiary based in North Wollongong for more than 10 years. During this time, it has consistently lured about a quarter of its local solar market.

Jorge Guillén, Ingeteam’s photovoltaic and storage sector sales manager in Australia, placed special importance on the new contracts.

“This is the first project we have carried out for this client, which has placed its trust in Ingeteam because of our technical capacity and proven solvency in the more than 4GW supplied in the country.” – Jorge Guillén, Ingeteam Australia photovoltaic and storage sector sales manager

The equipment being supplied by Ingeteam is to be installed within the solar plants in 22 medium-voltage transformer stations. This installation will provide advanced technology to improve the efficiency and reliability of energy delivery from the projects.

Guillén was equally proud to be a part of Australia’s energy transition.

“We are very proud to contribute to the electrification of Australia, decarbonising its energy matrix.” – Jorge Guillén, Ingeteam Australia photovoltaic and storage sector sales manager

Through these contracts, Ingeteam aims to further solidify its presence in Australia’s solar sector while supporting the nation’s shift towards renewable energy sources. The partnership with European Energy is a big step toward us bringing long-term, stable, environmentally friendly energy to communities. It reflects Ingeteam’s commitment to innovating in clean energy technologies.
