xAI Enters $300 Million Deal with Telegram to Distribute Grok Chatbot

xAI, the company that developed the Grok chatbot, has taken a significant step with their recent partnership with Telegram. They are promising to pay an initial $300 million to bring Grok into the platform. This collaboration aims to create the best possible experience for users. It allows Grok’s advanced features to be used directly inside Telegram by the app’s future premium paying users.

Pavel Durov, Telegram’s CEO, announced on X that the deal would enable Telegram to earn 50% of the revenue generated from xAI subscriptions purchased through the app. This creative revenue-sharing model is expected to bring in enormous financial returns to each company. Through this, they will expand their user base and improve their service offerings.

A little over a month ago xAI launched Grok, but only for Telegram’s premium users. Conceptually, this was a highly strategic move to enhance the platform’s core features. Durov stressed that users can quickly interact with Grok by asking questions using the search bar in Telegram. Durov then proceeded to release this video, announcing that amazing things were coming! To make it easier to access Grok’s features, users will soon be able to pin Grok at the top of their chats.

As part of the investment, xAI and Telegram entered into a strategic partnership, providing cash and equity financing. This agreement is a testament to both sides’ commitment to collaboration and partnership. Durov’s statement on X emphasized the potential of this partnership to innovate and enhance communication for Telegram’s users.
