Spotify Enhances User Experience with New Features and Tools

Spotify recently launched some pretty major features that let users exercise more agency with their listening. This new functionality will be available to listeners in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

The biggest new feature is the ability for users to create playlists out of their Liked songs. We delivered on this request with the Sort feature, which lets listeners filter their Liked songs by genre upfront and then add them to personalized playlists. We anticipate that this new improvement will greatly increase user engagement, as it will allow users to curate their listening experience more easily and more personally.

Spotify has done a nice job updating its interface to surface important controls. During playlist creation, you can now easily access features like Shuffle, Smart Shuffle, Repeat and Sleep Timer. To make navigating your music easier, we’re moving some of our other curation tools onto one convenient page. This update will help you move around and learn about your choices more easily.

Of all the new features Spotify aims to bring forward, one is particularly eye-catching—a 30-day Snooze feature. This smart feature will let you temporarily remove tracks from appearing in your recommendations, so you can fine-tune your new listening experience even more. Our users are going to be crazy about this one! It enables them to update their recommendations without losing track of songs they may want to rediscover down the line.

Additionally, with the new update, users can now completely turn off Smart Shuffle and Autoplay from Spotify’s Settings. This update responds to user feedback from listeners who want a more hand-picked listening experience with no auto-recommendations.
