Spotify Enhances User Experience with Audiobooks and Upcoming Releases Hub

Spotify, the world’s largest and most advanced audio streaming subscription service, last week rolled out some big changes designed to improve the user experience and encourage discovery. The company rolled out the ability for users to purchase individual audiobooks directly within the app, marking a notable expansion of its content offerings. This innovative capability will help listeners discover a much more varied world of audiobooks while continuing to enjoy a smooth flow of listening content.

In addition to audiobooks, Spotify introduced a new hub called “Upcoming Releases,” which provides personalized recommendations based on a user’s listening history. This central hub will be a key resource in helping users find future albums that best suit their musical preferences. These global maps and the top 10 Countdowns will be updated every Wednesday in the “Upcoming Releases” hub. These countdowns feature the top upcoming releases that you’re most looking forward to. They’re all ranked solely on the number of pre-saves, taking music discovery on the platform to a new level.

Recent changes to the Spotify app make users in the U.S. the force to be reckoned with. They have more convenient access to pricing and external payment links for audiobooks, among other content. This development follows a U.S. judge’s ruling that ordered Apple to stop charging commissions on purchases made through iPhone apps. This means that Spotify can offer its users greater pricing transparency and enable users to make purchases directly through its platform.

Unfortunately, their redesign this month didn’t implement a much-needed balancing feature, allowing Spotify customers to take control of their listening and recommendations. Thanks to the colorful new interface, unlocking all of TCM’s treasures and navigating it is intuitive and fun. Most importantly, it allows users to conveniently discover new music and audiobooks that align with their interests.

These changes are just the latest in a long list of Spotify’s recent efforts to prove its dedication to user-centric changes and innovations on its ever-evolving platform. Spotify just announced a major expansion to its catalog with audiobooks. All the while, it is doubling down on its music discovery features, cementing its position as an all-in-one audio entertainment platform.
