>Pinterest recently announced plans to improve the Pinterest user experience by rolling out new tools to help them improve content recommendations in the Pinterest app. You can now find new features to filter out AI-generated content from your Feed! Just navigate to the “Account settings” menu, and find the section titled “Refine your recommendations.” This move is consistent with Pinterest’s long-standing promise to keep its platform a place of true inspiration.
The rollout begins on the web and on Android phones. Our intention is to roll it out to iOS users in the next several weeks. For starters, users can now select the categories of content they’d like to see. These categories are routinely highlighted with beautiful AI-generated content in the beauty, art, fashion and home décor spaces. In order to train their feed, users just have to tap the three-dot overflow menu and maximize their settings right there.
Matt Madrigal, Pinterest’s Chief Technology Officer, underlined the role of community input on this release. He stated,
“With our new GenAI controls, we’re empowering people to personalize their Pinterest experience more than ever—striking the right balance between human creativity and AI innovation, and ensuring every feed truly reflects what inspires them most.”
Pinterest too is making moves to address growing fears around AI-generated content on social media. This latest action is proof of how serious they are about tackling these pressing issues. Users have made it clear that they want a more personalized experience that puts human songwriting first, not AI-generated recommendations.
