NotebookLM Expands Video Overviews to 80 Languages

With updated access to Video Overviews in over 80 languages, NotebookLM has made it easier than ever to learn how to use this tool! On August 25, 2025, Google dropped a bomb with an earthshaking update. This is a tremendous advancement for users around the world who learn visually and communicate in their local language.

The new-and-improved feature now works in several of the most spoken languages in the world, including French, German, Spanish, and Japanese. Until now, NotebookLM’s Video Overviews were only available in English, making it difficult for non-English speakers to follow along. This expansion hopes to serve a wider audience of people and help them interact with content in a way that’s most comfortable for them.

The Video Overviews feature was only launched by NotebookLM a month ago. Users can turn their notes, PDF documents, and even photos into dynamic video presentations! With these most recent changes, users have access to even deeper analysis and helpful trends. In particular, these features allow accomplish the varied needs of our worldwide user base across thousands of language varieties.

Keep an eye out for this big update over the next week! And all of you out there around the world, it will be available for you too! This shift marks a major step in Google’s priority of creating inclusive and accessible educational resources. To make NotebookLM even more useful, Google is enhancing support for additional languages for Video Overviews. This effort only heightens their impact by providing the users with a more inclusive learning space.

Previously, with this update Google kept NotebookLM to short summaries, and the full expanded version was restricted to English only. The addition of multi-language support marks a big change in how users can interact with NotebookLM’s powerful features.
