Neysa Secures $1.2 Billion Financing from Blackstone to Boost AI Infrastructure in India

Neysa, an early-stage Indian startup building AI infrastructure, raised $1 million in pre-seed funding. The U.S. private equity firm of Blackstone has poured big bucks into the venture. This investment will bolster India’s efforts to develop and expand its domestic AI capacity. It seeks to grow the nation’s computing power. Neysa, who is based in Mumbai, is on a mission to make India’s AI landscape more inclusive. They have ambitious plans to ramp GPU deployments from 1,200 to more than 20,000 over the next few years.

The recently announced round of financing would be worth as much as $1.2 billion. Neysa goes on to raise a further $600 million in debt-funding to focus its efforts in greatly increasing its GPU capacity. We plan to use this new capital infusion to deploy GPU-powered clusters at a much larger scale. These clusters would feature mission-critical components such as computing power, networking and storage. We will devote a greater share of the money to research and development. That includes updating Neysa’s software platforms with a strong emphasis on orchestration, observability, and security.

Sharad Sanghi, co-founder and CEO of Neysa, said they are confident in the increasing need for AI infrastructure solutions.

“We are seeing a demand that we are going to more than triple our capacity next year.” – Sharad Sanghi

This funding is especially sorely needed as Blackstone recently made the point that India only has fewer than 60,000 GPUs deployed so far. The top 10 law firm anticipates that large leap will be dwarfed by the coming tsunami. They predict it will increase almost 30-fold, exceeding two million GPUs in the next few years. This growth is indicative of a broader strategic push by India to build its own AI capacities. Since then, local businesses have been able to compete, and even thrive, globally.

Neysa is an inclusive consulting and design practice founded in 2023. It has rapidly scaled to become one of the central players in the nascent AI infrastructure market. The company recently hired its 110th person across its offices in Mumbai, Bengaluru and Chennai. With the new investment, Neysa will solidify its leadership position in the booming AI infrastructure sector. It will deliver the authoritative resources and guidance that industries will look to in order to train and skill up workforces ready to embrace AI technologies.

Sanghi emphasized the importance of customer support within their solutions. Having seen many families struggle to navigate this rapidly changing field, Neysa knows that timely help is crucial.

“A lot of customers want hand-holding, and a lot of them want round-the-clock support with a 15-minute response and a couple of our resolutions. And so those are the kinds of things that we provide that some of the hyperscalers don’t.” – Sharad Sanghi

Neysa intends to scale up its GPU capabilities and build out their software platforms. This strategy will go a long way in catering to the booming market requirements and will greatly boost India’s AI ecosystem. The success of the company’s initiatives serves national goals to encourage innovation and technology development here at home.
