Motion Secures $38 Million in Series C Funding to Revolutionize AI Integration for Businesses

Motion, a newly founded startup created by Harry Qi, Omid Rooholfada, Ethan Yu, and Chander Ramesh, has recently turned heads in the investment community. They closed on $38 million of a Series C funding round that was five times oversubscribed. Stacey Bishop at Scale Venture Partners really led the charge on a big investment. This most recent round of funding brings Motion’s total raised to $75 million. The company aims to build an integrated AI agent platform tailored for small to mid-sized businesses (SMBs) with limited budgets.

At 29, serial entrepreneur Harry Qi is already an accomplished headline-maker in the tech world. By 23, he was pulling in around $1 million a year. In reflecting on his journey, Qi recognized the burdens of entrepreneurship. If I’m answering super candidly, even on a purely financial level, it was still the wrong move. I’d be doing anywhere from three to ten million a year right now, if I was still doing that,” he said. Aside from that, it’s his passion for producing something that provides real value for people that motivates him. “What gets you out of bed is just knowing you actually built something useful,” Qi explained.

Motion made its all-in-one AI agent bundle available exclusively to SMBs in May. This smart new product offering makes it possible for users to pay different prices for very different functionalities. Monthly subscriptions start at only $29 for one seat and 1,000 credits. If you’re looking for additional resources, larger packages can be ordered, up to $600 for 25 seats, unlimited agent features and 250,000 credits.

Having already seen notable expansion within its commercial sector in just a short four month period, Motion has skyrocketed since the business sector boom. It’s acquired over 10,000 B2B customers and reached a staggering $10 million in ARR. Qi highlighted the growth opportunity in this sector. “There’s an opportunity here to build the next Microsoft,” he said, reflecting on the company’s vision.

Motion’s AI agents are designed to integrate seamlessly with the business tools you already know and use. It takes a few clicks to automate them with Slack, Google Apps, Microsoft Teams, and Salesforce. This combined integration gives users the ability to do more in less time – that’s more work, more impact, more efficiency. Qi noted the importance of building comprehensive applications for users, stating, “You basically have to build all the applications.”

Motion is quickly growing its product line and number of customers. Most importantly, this program is deeply committed to the small and mid-sized businesses that too often feel the pinch of short-staffed resources. The company’s mission — to promote the adoption of electric transportation — matched Qi’s ambitions to create a powerful change in the world. “At some point you just want to make a much bigger impact on this world,” he expressed.

Motion is on a solid footing and has big, exciting growth plans. It’s good to see them poised to take big steps in the AI space for small and medium businesses (SMBs). This change has been met with an overwhelmingly positive response from customers, and for good reason—the company is truly doing a 180. Its development was inspired by the mission to revolutionize the operational AI tech businesses leverage.
