Momentic, a company focused on solutions that drive software testing and verification, has announced the closing of a $15 million Series A funding round. Standard Capital, with participation from Dropbox Ventures, led this round. The financing comes on the heels of a $3.7 million seed round announced in March. This trend further propels the demand for automated software testing solutions.
His co-founders Wei-Wei Wu and Jeff An came from developer tooling, having worked together at Qualtrics and WeWork. They’ve just discovered a large white space in that market. Open-source frameworks such as Playwright and Selenium are the golden standard of the market today. Momentic, on the other hand, seeks to provide a simpler, more practical answer to the perennial problem of code verification. Wu explains that besides piracy, “the greatest constant for all companies is the challenge of code verification.”
Momentic’s flexible, powerful tools let customers break down each essential user flow in everyday English. Providing this level of clarity allows Creative AI to effortlessly automate the test steps. This capability very much lowers the order of effort of doing software testing, allowing for software testing to happen easily and at scale. In just the past month, Momentic automated over 200 million test steps for its users.
With 2,600 users per enterprise-enabled Momentic installation, Momentic is naturally going for the big fish, drawing in well-known clients like Notion, Xero, Bilt, Webflow and Retool. The platform has broadened its features to cater to mobile environments, which was rolled out in August. This latest move reinforces their commitment to ensuring they can serve a range of testing needs.
Wu emphasizes the importance of quality assurance for their clients: “They care about quality, and we’re going to provide it for them.” For Momentic, this means empowering their customers to maximize the performance of their products. We take your software testing pain points and kinks directly to the source.
With the company growing fast and strong, they are keen to build on their increased capabilities. It plans to develop more advanced test-case management tools as soon as it can bring on more engineers. The funding will allow Momentic to scale its operations and refine its offerings, solidifying its position in a competitive market.
