Kabir Narang, a founding general partner at B Capital, has departed the international venture firm. Moving forward, he’s committed to rolling out a new investment platform, which is scheduled to start in 2026. Initially, Narang joined B Capital back in March 2017. Working out of the firm’s Singapore office, he was instrumental in developing and implementing the firm’s overall Asia strategy. His departure marks a significant shift for Narang. It also affects B Capital, which has become an important middleman in the technology-healthcare nexus.
During his time at B Capital, Narang co-led the firm’s Asia strategy and served as Chair of its global investment committee. He was a key driving force behind supporting a number of other promising Indian startups such as Meesho, Khatabook, CredAvenue, Bounce, Bizongo. These investments are illustrative of his deep commitment to nurturing cutting-edge innovation among Indian entrepreneurs.
Narang’s new venture aims to focus on “compounding at the intersection of technology, AI, and global capital flows.” And for those select companies that exhibit the most promise and intelligence towards sustainable growth, he plans to take personal stakes of 1-2%. This strategic direction is meant to express his faith in the transformative capabilities of technology and especially artificial intelligence in guiding future investments.
“We are living through one of the most profound technological revolutions in history, and one of the toughest tests of investor discipline,” – Kabir Narang
B Capital was started in 2015 by Narang along with Eduardo Saverin and Raj Ganguly. Today, it’s responsible for more than $9 billion from nine offices in the contiguous U.S. and Asia. The firm has a growing reputation as a technology-focused, multi-stage investor with active interests in healthcare and resilience tech. B Capital spokesperson reiterated their deep commitment to their strategy in Asia. The timing could not have been more significant as they confirmed their commitment to their global platform, post Narang.
“B Capital remains deeply committed to our strategy in Asia and our broader global platform,” – B Capital spokesperson
The firm’s well-capitalized and well-connected leadership, along with a deep bench of industry experience across the region, as a spokesperson highlighted. This puts them in ideal position to capture future innovation and fuel category-defining companies primary markets.
“With strong leadership and an experienced team across the region, we are well-positioned to capitalize on the next wave of innovation and continue backing category-defining companies across our core markets,” – B Capital spokesperson
As Narang gets ready to dive into this new chapter, he’s excited about what lies ahead. He calls attention to the importance of AI within the environmental, social governance investment landscape transformation. The ones who do, he argues, will be responsible for creating the next generation of enduring value.
