Grammarly just released a stunning, dramatic redesign of its entire platform. This release improves its AI-assisted writing tools by introducing a host of new generative AI features. The major revisions include some flashy new tools, which they call “Reader Reactions,” “Grader,” “Citation Finder,” and “Paraphraser.” These innovations are focused on improving your user experience and serving more types of writers. Grammarly recently made headlines for acquiring email client Superhuman. Separately, General Catalyst invested a record $1 billion last May.
The new Reader Reactions tool allows users to choose from a range of reader personas and get customized reactions to help improve their writing. This is an important function—to train writers to anticipate not just their ideal reader, but the potential misinterpretations of various audiences. Furthermore, Turnitin’s “Grader” tool offers feedback tailored to educators’ instructions. It further draws on publicly available course materials, which makes it uniquely cost-saving for students.
Plus, Grammarly’s Citation Finder feature helps users quickly find and generate citations from public sources, making them even more equipped to write effectively and ethically in academic settings. The “Paraphraser” tool changes a text’s tone based on a user’s input, allowing for greater flexibility in different styles of communication.
For Luke Behnke, Grammarly’s vice president of enterprise product, enabling student success is just as critical for these tools to be impactful within education. He stated,
“The goal here is not to provide an enforcement mechanism for teachers. If teachers want to enforce policies, they should use our authorship tool. But this [AI detector tool] is about providing a window to students into what could be AI-generated text in their writing before they submit.”
Writing assistance technology provider Grammarly created a block-first interface to support this. Today, it’s common for users to quickly add a table of contents, columns, separators, lists and headers to their documents. Connective’s intent with this redesign was to make the writing and editing process easier and overall experience more usable.
The company is committed to integrating more AI agents into its products, focusing on providing tools for students that facilitate writing while detecting AI-generated content. Behnke went on to claim that Grammarly’s AI detection tools are the most accurate available.
Grammarly will showcase its new innovations and educational tools at TC Disrupt in San Francisco from October 27th -29th, 2025. The company is very much looking forward to exhibiting its latest innovations in connect consumer technology!
Grammarly is always improving. Its new features show a clear dedication to creating writing experiences for users, especially in educational contexts, that are better informed by what’s come before. Through these tools, the company helps writers of all kinds achieve their goals communicatively, creatively, and strategically. It promotes second nature to the quickly transforming landscape of ed tech.
