Google Meet Introduces Innovative AI-Powered Makeup Filter

Just when you thought Google Meet’s AI tools for video conferencing had reached their peak, the service has introduced a new makeup filter powered by artificial intelligence. This new feature began to rollout as of October 8 for both mobile and web. It wants to give users an easy answer to the question of what to do on those days when you don’t want to do real makeup before work meetings.

The recently released beauty mode filter features up to twelve customizable makeup looks, letting users change their look instantly in the app. Enable Portrait Mode Touch-up Tools on Portrait Mode photos. These tools can be found in the “Appearance” section under “Portrait touch-up,” which has been out since early 2023. With the new “Portrait touch-up” feature, you can access incredibly powerful tools such as complexion smoothing, under-eye lightening, and eye whitening. Now, with the addition of a new makeup filter, Google Meet has cemented themselves ahead of other video conferencing applications.

This news comes as competitors, such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom, continue to roll out virtual makeup of their own. Google Meet’s AI-powered makeup filter aims to enhance its competitiveness in the rapidly evolving video conferencing market.

The recently-added Filtered Connection feature is a game-changer for professionals. It makes them feel put together in virtual meetings, without the use of actual makeup and time spent prepping in the morning. When using the AI-powered beautification filter, Zoom users can quickly and easily look their best on camera while on a live call. This stride is evidence of how Google Meet is making an effort to constantly improve the user experience. It further meets the growing need for powerful, agile video communications solutions.
