Didero Secures $30 Million to Revolutionize Manufacturing Procurement with AI

Didero is a cutting-edge startup that makes manufacturing procurement easier and more efficient. It made headlines earlier this month after closing a $30 million Series A funding round, co-led by Chemistry and Headline. The round was notably backed by Microsoft’s venture fund, M12. Didero’s founders—Tim Spencer, Lorenz Pallhuber and Tom Petit—wanted to do something about the hells of global procurement. Their solution stands out with a proprietary agentic AI layer that meshes natural—almost effortlessly—into current enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.

The real magic of Didero is that it serves as a powerful coordinator that handles all the incoming communications in an organized manner. The AI system scans incoming emails, WeChat messages, phone calls, purchase orders and packing lists. It then auto-magically performs the updates and runs the chores that need to be done. In today’s volatile environment, this capability becomes essential to help companies deliver the most reliable supply chain possible.

What sets Didero apart is the company’s focus on the more complex challenges of supply chain management. In comparison, competitors such as Levelpath, Zip and Oro Labs focus almost exclusively on making corporate purchasing easier. The company’s mission is clear: to transform the procurement process from the initial need identification to payment execution without requiring any manual intervention.

During the pre-accelerator pitch workshop, co-founder and tech entrepreneur Tim Spencer pointed to the company’s vision. He is most well-known for his former leadership at Markai, an e-commerce startup that sold in 2023.

“The goal is to go from ‘I need a good’ to payment without having to lift a finger,” – Tim Spencer

Didero has already started to make waves in the industry as Didero has gone on to land dozens of customers. Among them is Footprint, an industry-leading provider of sustainable, plant-based packaging solutions. This partnership is a reflection of Didero’s versatility and dedication to the success of businesses that make sustainable practices a priority within their company.

Co-founder Lorenz Pallhuber, a former consultant in McKinsey’s procurement practice, adds deep operational know-how. Tom Petit, the former technical co-founder of Landis, brings his technical expertise to Didero to further strengthen our AI capabilities. Continuous improvement These new capabilities have been made possible by rapid advancements in generative AI technology.

Looking back on his experiences leading large teams under traditional procurement environments, Spencer noted,

“I found myself running this big team that was not really set up for success.”

This understanding spurred him to action to develop a solution that would enable procurement professionals to overcome the challenges that weighed them down.
