Amazon Enhances Q Business with New Features for Public-Facing Chatbots

Now Amazon has revealed sweeping updates to its Q Business platform, giving companies the ability to build public-facing chatbots with advanced functionalities and ease. Unlike what Microsoft announced on April 30, 2025, this AI announcement came with many exciting new “agentic” features. It announced that anonymous user access will now let guest users access the platform’s generative AI capabilities without having to log in.

Kyle is an AI Editor at TechCrunch. He writes that these improvements are going into their broader plan to produce the most expansive artificial intelligence portfolio in the industry. Under the leadership of CEO Andy Jassy, the company is developing over 1,000 generative AI applications, reflecting its commitment to innovation in this rapidly growing field. Amazon’s AI revenue has been on a record-breaking and extraordinary growth streak, with “triple-digit” year-over-year growth. Currently, the company boasts a “multi-billion-dollar annual revenue run rate” from its AI sector.

Q Business is an AWS-hosted smart AI assistant. Powerful as a standalone app, it’s the glue that holds together a multitude of tasks for users in many third-party applications. This means being able to answer queries, give overviews, and finish activities quickly. With the newly introduced anonymous user access, businesses can finally develop applications that let members of the public consume content without creating an account.

“This capability allows guest users to use Amazon Q Business generative AI capabilities to quickly find product information, get technical answers, navigate documentation, and troubleshoot issues,” Amazon stated in their announcement.

Rebranded as Q Business, we’ve added some really cool functionality to elevate the experience. Combined, these changes significantly improve user experience by making it easier for companies to engage with their customers via automated chat solutions. The platform’s anonymous access enables companies to create powerful new innovations and applications. Now, they can enrich users’ experiences without requesting any personal identifiable information.

He’s quick to point out that these updates are absolutely necessary as there is an ever-growing demand to make AI tools more accessible. Orgs are racing to implement AI technologies that will make their orgs run more efficiently and provide better service to their customers. With these developments, Q Business further cements Amazon’s dominance as the world’s primary market leader.
