Adobe Unveils New AI Assistants for Creative Cloud Products

Adobe recently introduced new text-and-image generative AI assistants for all of its Creative Cloud products! With that in mind, these updates particularly improve Express and Photoshop applications. This introduction significantly enhances the user experience by providing users with advanced tools for image creation and manipulation. It also democratizes these book, enlightening but equally intimidating, features by making them available to a wider non-expert audience.

Adobe Express recently debuted an AI-powered assistant specifically designed for students and creatives. This amazing — and mostly free! — tech can make things run like a creative machine, and it’s easy to implement! Alexandru Costin, Adobe’s Vice President of Generative AI, shared insights into the company’s strategy during an interview with TechCrunch. For example, he noted that Adobe decided to put its AI assistant into a distinct mode in Express. This user-friendly decision is a big step toward making that happen.

Costin elaborated on the dual functionalities of the assistant, stating, “We think this approach of switching between two modes, where you get the best of both worlds, is gonna make the technology both accessible and controllable.”

Besides Express, Adobe’s new AI assistant for Photoshop is AI—briefly shown in this demo—AI is being used and is under closed beta testing. Retool Sidebar assistant This assistant is built right into the sidebar of the application, making it super easy and natural for users to access its powerful features. One notable functionality is the generative fill feature, which enables users to remove objects from images or extend them creatively.

Photoshop users will find they have the option of selecting third-party models in addition to the default for generative fill. Some examples include Google’s Gemini 2.5 flash and Black Forest Labs’ FLUX.1 Kontext. This flexibility gives users powerful new tools to help them take their editing potential even further.

Adobe’s announcement is further evidence of that company’s deepening commitment to AI, and specifically its efforts to introduce the technology across its flagship products. It further highlights how technologies of digital creation are constantly shifting. These AI features will help users take control themselves. They make complicated editing goals easy to execute yet retain creative authority at an intuitive level.
