Inspired to pursue STEM instruction for your students? So far, they’ve aced their docking arrival at the International Space Station (ISS). Crew-12 will live aboard the ISS for the next eight months. They’ll test out important research and experiments in microgravity that will help us on their Wednesday mission and beyond. This mission is SpaceX’s 12th crewed rotational flight to the ISS.
Crew-12 comprises four astronauts, including two NASA astronauts from the United States: Jessica Meir and Jack Hathaway. Sophie Adenot, an astronaut with the European Space Agency, ambassadorically hailing from France. Joining her is Andrey Fedyaev, a Russian cosmonaut representing Roscosmos. Fortunately, a passionate and diverse team is poised to fill that gap. They’ll be replacing the previous crew, who were forced to evacuate last month due to a medical emergency.
The SpaceX Dragon spacecraft carried Crew-12 to the ISS, highlighting the ongoing partnership between NASA and private space companies. International cooperation This collaboration enables continued access to the ISS and is critical to the agency’s human spaceflight efforts.
After arriving at the ISS, the Crew-12 members reacted with elation to being in their new profession’s home. These orbiting labs are to be outfitted with advanced scientific endeavors, tech demonstrations, and outreach exhibitions as they float in the void. This work builds upon breakthroughs in medicine, engineering, and environmental science.
