Our friend Korea East-West Power (KEWP) just took a big step in the right direction. They recently signed a collaboration MoU with SAMSUNG SDI. The contract will be used to design, build, test and commission energy storage projects. It found its continuation in the formalization at the StarPlus Energy plant, a joint venture between SAMSUNG SDI and Stellantis in Indiana, United States.
KEWP is thus an ideal place to observe the ascendency of a new global energy superpower. It currently runs in several countries, including the United States, Australia, Saudi Arabia, and Indonesia. This extensive international presence positions the company well to leverage advancements in energy storage technology in collaboration with SAMSUNG SDI.
Myung Ho Kwon, the president and CEO of Korea East-West Power, made clear the significance of this partnership. He stated that merging the infrastructure of a public power generation company with the advanced technologies of a private sector partner can significantly enhance competitiveness in the global market.
“By combining the infrastructure of a public power generation company with the advanced technologies of a private-sector partner, we can enhance competitiveness in the global market. Building on this agreement, we aim to deliver concrete business results.” – Myung Ho Kwon
KEWP’s strategic collaboration aims to strengthen its position as a leader in the energy storage system and renewable energy sectors. Heon Joon Kim, senior vice president from SAMSUNG SDI, commented on the new partnership’s ability to help improve not only global competitiveness, but collaboration.
“Through our collaboration with Korea East-West Power, a leading public power generation company, we expect to strengthen our global competitiveness in the energy storage system and renewable energy sectors. We will further solidify our position as a leading energy solutions provider.” – Heon Joon Kim
The signing of this MoU is an encouraging new step between the two companies. They are always looking for the next big thing, cutting-edge technology, or new solution to create more energy with less resources. Their combined efforts aim to foster advancements that will not only benefit their operations but contribute positively to global energy sustainability.
