Please join us in welcoming Anthony Ha as TechCrunch’s new weekend editor. This new and exciting addition is sure to bolster the publication’s already impressive editorial strength. Ha, who resides in New York City, brings a wealth of experience from various roles in the tech journalism landscape.
Ha has also reported on the tech industry for Adweek. There, he honed his skills in tracking industry trends and understanding emerging technologies. His wisdom from the front lines of the rapid-fire tech landscape promises to enrich TechCrunch’s weekend coverage in new and exciting ways.
Prior to joining Adweek, Ha served as senior editor at VentureBeat. In this role, he guided coverage on significant developments in technology and innovation, further establishing his reputation in the field. His deep experience in editing, copyediting and running editorial departments will serve him well as head of TechCrunch’s editorial direction.
Alongside his work in tech journalism, Ha also reported on local government for the Hollister Free Lance. This varied experience complements his understanding of education and philanthropy. This background gave him an on-the-ground perspective that well rounds out his tech-focussed career, further demonstrating his versatility as a journalist. His experience in covering both hardnosed and more scene-focused reporting will surely help diversify the types of content TechCrunch produces.
Additionally, Ha has a background outside of journalism — he most recently served as vice president of content at a venture capital firm. It was in this role where Julian’s eyes were opened to technology’s investment side. Instead, it provided him a more holistic view of the industry along with his passion. His insight from the worlds of journalism and venture capital will be a tremendous asset to his new role.
