Zelestra Expands Solar Capacity with New Agreement in Texas

Zelestra, the executive industry-leading executive in the renewable energy sector for a long-term Impact Meta Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). This deal includes the Skull Creek Solar Plant in Texas. This deal is hugely significant for Zelestra. It moves them forward to realizing a total solar capacity of about 1.2 gigawatts-direct current (GWdc) over seven projects in the U.S. The projects are set to be in service by 2028, helping to reshape the clean energy future of the growing region.

Phil North, the CEO of Zelestra US, couldn’t be more excited about the partnership with Meta. Yet he sees it increasing in traction across the US. He emphasized all the positive recent progress in the company’s transformation. Construction has started on two other megaprojects, and there’s been notable progress at the Jasper County site.

“Our clean energy collaboration with Meta is gathering momentum across the US. We are delighted to welcome full operations at Jasper County and start of construction at two further major projects, at the same time as closing another major agreement that will enable the construction of Skull Creek in Texas. Thanks to our forward-looking partnership, nearly 1.2GWdc of new clean solar power will soon be operational in the US.” – Phil North, Zelestra US CEO

Zelestra is growing, too, with two projects that began construction late last year. We look forward to many more projects breaking ground over the course of this year! The funder is deepening its long-term commitment to clean energy in exciting new ways. With Meta’s support, it’s working on all seven of these projects as a national collaborative.

Aside from its collaboration with Meta, Zelestra inked a separate long-term PPA with Microsoft in November of 2025. This agreement brings new solar projects in Spain, adding another 95.7 megawatts-alternating current to Zelestra’s expanding portfolio.

The Skull Creek project in Texas is a continuation of the company’s expansion, as well as a breakthrough into additional solar integration. This new project announcement fits in line with the company’s vision beautifully. We look forward to bringing more sustainable and renewable energy solutions to the US market.

As Zelestra further advances these projects and others like them, it hopes to be at the center of a true revolution in the energy space. The planned operational timeline for its solar projects promises to enhance not only local economies but contribute significantly to reducing carbon emissions.
