Nextracker Arabia Launches Joint Venture to Propel Solar Energy Development in MENA

Nextracker Arabia is now fully launched and official! This new clean energy partnership between Abunayyan and Nextracker represents another significant step toward the expansion of renewable energy deployment in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. Nextracker Arabia has its headquarters in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The company will support regional renewable energy goals, including the state’s ambitious Vision 2030 initiative, by manufacturing and supplying advanced solar tracking systems and technologies.

The total equity and debt financing from the joint venture is expected to reach $88 million (SR330 million). This investment will happen over the next 24 months. In the first phase, Nextracker Arabia plans a significant annual production capacity of up to 12 gigawatts (GW). Their forthcoming production plant will span 42,000 m2 in Jeddah. The new facility is anticipated to come online in Q2 2026. This round will be an incredibly important inflection point for solar energy generation in the Pacific.

Nextracker Arabia’s operations align with projections that predict solar capacity in the MENA region will exceed 180 GW by 2030. This expansion is especially important as the region seeks to diversify its energy portfolio and support a green, sustainable economy. The nationwide joint venture intends to expand U.S. solar energy manufacturing. It hopes to produce thousands of jobs and develop local engineering talent.

Turki Al-Amri, CEO of Abunayyan and chairman of Nextracker Arabia reinforced just how significant this investment is for the region’s burgeoning clean energy ecosystem.

“Our manufacturing facility represents the first step in our strategic vision to strengthen and localise the solar supply chain for our partners across the MENA region and enhance collaboration to deliver highly efficient and cost-effective clean energy.” – Turki Al-Amri

Khalid Abunayyan, another major player within the joint venture, expanded upon the big picture implications of what it means to provide sustainable, affordable energy.

“Making energy and water supply readily accessible, sustainable and affordable is essential to the continued economic and social development of Saudi Arabia and our partners across the region. It is also central to the core values and DNA of Abunayyan Holding.” – Khalid Abunayyan

Nextracker Arabia came about after a joint venture agreement was signed in October of 2025. This MOU definitely solidified the collaboration between Abunayyan and Nextracker. This ambitious collaborative effort aims to build local energy capacity that can meet greater local energy needs. It will be a key pillar for the development of utility-scale solar projects throughout the MENA region.
