Vestas Expands Global Footprint with New Wind Turbine Orders in Germany, Poland, and Chile

Today Vestas, a global leader in design, manufacturing, installation and servicing of wind turbines, made some great news. They did win big orders on wind turbine projects in Germany, Poland, and Chile respectively. These developments are exciting examples of the company’s stated commitment to renewable energy and what appears to be a continued push to grow its global presence.

With a record that speaks for itself, Vestas has installed more than 197 gigawatts (GW) of wind turbines in 88 countries. This deep well of experience, combined with an extensive footprint in the rapidly growing renewable energy space. The most recent projects include new onshore and offshore wind turbine installations—evidence of Vestas’s ability to deliver a rich array of energy solutions.

New Projects in Germany

In Germany, Uhl Windkraft has placed a firm order for 11 V172-7.2MW turbines. This order will energize the Schnabelwaid project with a combined 79 megawatts (MW) of available capacity. This project is unique among others because of one major accomplishment. It includes a long term, 20-year AOM 5000 service agreement with Vestas, assuring the continued support and maintenance of the wind farm.

Moreover, Wpd has purchased 80MW of repowering capacity for the Reinstedt project in Germany. For this project, we anticipate first deliveries to begin in the second quarter of 2026. Commissioning is expected to begin in the 4th quarter of that year. These initiatives are a testament to Vestas’s commitment to improving energy production and sustainability in the region.

Expansion into Poland

Vestas is progressing well in Poland via partnerships including FW LUBIEŃ 1 and Greenvolt Power Group. They have since ordered eight V150-4.0MW turbines for the Lubień project, which will be 32MW in total. This project is a big sign of progress for Poland’s renewable energy development—a crucial step in the country’s transition to clean energy.

Combined, these turbines will double the country’s existing wind energy capacity. In doing so, they’ll grow Vestas’s already impressive Eastern European portfolio. As demand for sustainable energy sources continues to grow, such collaborations are a testament to the savvy expansion of Vestas’s reach throughout the industry.

International Growth with a Project in Chile

Vestas has received a 128MW order for a wind project in Chile – one of the largest orders to the developing country. The opponent behind this settlement is still unknown. This contract truly is a game changer. It features a long-term, 25-year AOM 5000 service agreement with Vestas, showcasing the firm’s commitment to long-term support for its installations.

The Chilean project, which is farthest along in its planning, would start construction in the first quarter of 2027. We hope to have it commissioned by the third quarter of that year. Vestas, meanwhile, is moving into South America to diversify its markets even more. This decision further cements its leadership position in the race to deliver renewable energies worldwide.
