Spotify, the famous music streaming service, is throwing open its doors. It’s coming to five countries with new, higher, premium tiers! To improve user experience, Spotify is going beyond just counting streams. From smart hearing features to further enhancing audio clarity, they’re expanding these technologies into more global markets, including India.
Spotify has long offered multiple plans including Premium Standard, Duo, and Family, all of which are available in India’s market. These individual or family plans have perks like ad-free streaming, offline listening, and unlimited skip options. In a recent development, Spotify has raised subscription prices for new subscribers in India while reducing some benefits previously offered in its Premium plan.
The company’s Family plan remains competitively priced at ₹229 (approximately $2.58) per month, allowing up to six members to share the subscription. In the last two years, Spotify has lowered prices – sometimes dramatically – in multiple markets. Take the monthly subscription price in the U.S., which jumped from $9.99 to $11.99.
Looks like Spotify is all set to announce some new premium tiers! These tiers will bring the benefits of features that North American and European users have enjoyed for years to users in these targeted countries. Tops among these is the seamless integration with popular AI-powered DJ software including rekordbox, Serato, and djay. This integration allows users to easily import their libraries directly into the software. Now, they’re able to make those sets and mixes more easily!
If you’re an audio quality enthusiast, Spotify has some good news for you! Most notably, they’re teasing the introduction of a new “super premium” plan, which would include access to a lossless tier. This new tier will let Premium subscribers in more than 50 global markets listen to tracks in 24-bit/44.1 kHz FLAC quality. This improvement is sure to please audiophiles who want the best possible sound quality from their music streaming services.
Incoming subscribers won’t be able to pay for the old Duo or Family plans. This alteration is a big sign that Spotify is taking a new approach with its premium products. As the company continues to evolve its services, it aims to provide users with the most advanced features and audio experiences available.
