Vestas, the world’s largest provider of wind energy solutions, has been racking up turbine orders lately. This represents another exciting milestone, continuing their robust fourth-quarter order intake. The contracts include a headline order for a 128MW wind farm in Chile from an unnamed customer. They announce contracts for projects in Germany and Italy — demonstrating the company’s commitment to spreading renewable energy across the globe.
Vestas has entered an agreement to deliver turbines for a 128MW project in Chile. This program will provide a much-needed, long-term jumpstart to the country’s growing wind energy industry. Energiekontor and Loscon are currently ordering the turbines. Deliveries are now scheduled for the first quarter of 2027 and commissioning is expected in the second quarter of that same year. This order is an outcome of Vestas’ long-term strategy to provide sustainable energy solutions across Latin America.
European Projects
In Italy, Vestas partnered with PLT to supply five V162-6.0MW turbines. Combined, they will further develop the 30MW Castronovo di Sicilia project. This launch highlights Vestas’ continued investment in new renewable energy infrastructure in Europe. The Italian initiative looks to increase domestic energy production while meeting the European Union’s new sustainability objectives.
In Germany, Vestas is scheduled to deliver ten high-capacity V172-7.2MW turbines to Enertrag SE. This ambitious project, made up of Schenkenberg IV + V, will have an overall capacity of 72MW. Their delivery and commissioning is planned for the fourth quarter of 2026. Even more exciting, these projects feature Vestas’ latest technological advancements. More importantly, they showcase the company’s ability to focus on expanding clean energy solution’s booming markets at varying scales.
Commitment to Service
Both European contracts include long-term service agreements. The Italian project contract includes a 25-year AOM 5000 service agreement. The winning bid for the German project includes a 20-year AOM 5000 service contract. Vestas stands ready to deliver continued maintenance and support. These contracts enhance the production efficiency of the assets for their full lifecycle.
This strategy has helped Vestas grow into a global powerhouse in the wind energy sector. They have developed and successfully installed more than 193 GW of wind turbines in 88 countries. A better future Vestas is dedicated to doing more than just producing. They create jobs that include designing, installing, and servicing onshore and offshore wind turbines worldwide. This wealth of experience and knowledge makes Vestas a key company in accelerating global efforts to reach a world powered by sustainable energy solutions.
