Rivian’s spinoff, known as Ocean, has recently announced its new flagbearer: the TM-B. This premium pedal-assist electric bike combines futuristic design, smart technology and a modular platform that truly distinguishes it in the market. The TM-B features a state-of-the-art pedal-by-wire propulsion system. This technology allows athletes to experience seamless acceleration with no direct physical connection between rider input and bike output. This enormously advanced bike will be coming to market starting at a price of $4,500. It includes specifications that are the same as the soon-to-be-released performance trim.
Designed around 24-inch wheels, the TM-B also includes a number of up-to-date touches all focused on making the ride as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. Integrated lights and an audio system with four wind-shielded speakers and two noise-canceling microphones create an enjoyable ride, while the bike’s biomotion design illuminates the rider’s legs as they pedal, increasing visibility and safety.
Also’s retrofittable modular top frame lets you easily and quickly convert between different configurations, including single rider, bench seat, or utility cargo arrangements. To match its utility-focused setup, a built-in rear rack is designed to support up to 77 pounds of additional cargo. It has a mounting point for one water bottle cage. This flexibility meets different rider needs, from commuting to work to running errands, as riders can make more stops along the way.
The TM-B’s removable battery adds flexibility and productivity for users. It supports USB-C fast charging at a whopping 240 watts, so riders can quickly power their devices while on the go. With an exceptional estimated range of 100 miles on a single charge, the launch edition is a real game-changer. It features ten assistive levels, air shocks, an air fork for suspension, and two ride modes, including a high-speed “sport” option.
In addition to being pickup-sized, the base version of the TM-B will have a retail price of less than $4,000 in the second half of next year. It’ll be fitted with a battery that provides well above 60 miles of range. This customized experience is achieved thanks to five added assistive levels. It packs an air shock and coil fork for better suspension, plus one standard ride mode.
RJ Scaringe, CEO of Also, made it clear that in-house development was crucial to their products and ethos.
“We realized the only way to do this well is to build everything,” – RJ Scaringe
Chris Yu, a co-founder and representative of Also, emphasizes the significance of the bike’s software. In fact, it is the unsung hero of delivering high-value new features.
“Because we know so much about your experience, we know what assist level you’re in, we know what ride load you’re in, we know the average speed that you’ve been going — we can give you a really, really precise ETA,” – Chris Yu
The TM-B comes standard with the latest kiosk-ready, industrial-grade LTE and GPS technologies. This allows riders to receive real-time push notifications if their bike moves outside of an unexpected area.
“You get a push notification in the unfortunate case when it starts moving away because we have LTE and GPS, and we have a real time location,” – Chris Yu
Scaringe said the TM-B is just a glimpse in a more ambitious vision for Also’s product portfolio.
“This is a whole platform of products we’re going to build in the microspace,” – RJ Scaringe
The performance trim of the TM-B is expected to be released at an equally thrilling starting price of $4,500. Look for it to come to market in the first half of 2026! This production model will have many of the same specifications as the launch edition, but it’s definitely boasting some performance-related improvements.
Taiwan is preparing to dip a wheel into the highly competitive global electric bike market with its TM-B model. The company plans to bring a fast, flexible and high-tech urban commuting option to riders. It emphasizes modularity and open-source, end-to-end software. This strategy places the enterprise at the leading edge of innovation in micro-mobility solutions.
