Excitement Builds for OpenAI’s DevDay 2025 Conference

OpenAI’s third annual developer conference, DevDay 2025, will take place on Monday, October 6. Register now and meet us at Fort Mason in San Francisco for this exhilarating experience! With more than 1,500 attendees expected, the event promises to be a significant gathering for developers and tech enthusiasts alike.

The news of the conference will start bright and early at 10 AM PT with an opening keynote by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. Watch for big reveals and thrilling live demos to come! You’ll see how innovators in our space are creating the future with AI during a decidedly intelligent Innovation Showcase presentation. The keynote will last approximately one hour. You’ll be able to watch the event live on OpenAI’s YouTube page, allowing for an even larger audience to tune in from all around the world.

Following the keynote, OpenAI President Greg Brockman and Olivier Godement will present a “Developer State of the Union” at 3:15 PM PT. This track will be the place to hear what’s happening from behind the curtain at OpenAI and in the overall developer ecosystem.

At 4:15 PM PT, Sam Altman will join renowned designer Jony Ive for a “Closing Fireside Chat.” We’ll explore the “art of construction in the AI era” in this fascinating hardhat chat. Prepare for a fun and informative discussion, which will last roughly 45 minutes!

You can expect many more on-stage presentations and talks at DevDay 2025 from the best industry leaders. Other remarkable speakers are Cursor co-founder Aman Sanger and San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie. Joining them will be Andreessen Horowitz Investing Partner Kimberly Tan, among others.

In that spirit, this year’s event includes a thrilling new program of AI-augmented sideshows. They’re an innovative opportunity to have attendees think and act differently! One particular treat is “Sora Cinema,” an intimate mini-theater where chicsters can scarf down cult flicks while munching organic popcorn. It will feature short films produced using OpenAI’s new video model, Sora. This exciting new addition is designed to engage Summit participants in a unique and entertaining way.

OpenAI’s previous events have created a new expectation for massive announcements and product unveilings. During last year, the public organization released impactful developer improvements, such as an application programming interface (API) for AI voice applications. Earlier in 2023, OpenAI opened its first-ever DevDay by announcing the release of GPT-4 Turbo. They even kicked things off with a first-of-its-kind marketplace for AI agents, the GPT Store.

As excitement continues to grow for DevDay 2025, speculation abounds as to what new products or developer-focused features will be rolled out. OpenAI now makes its own personal AI device and tech-oligarch owned “social media” app. They are now building an AI-powered Chrome challenger browser. So far, this year’s event is missing any confirmed launches already on the calendar. As such, the tech community is aflutter with lots of speculation.
