Elmya and Atlantica Join Forces to Launch Renewable Energy Joint Venture

Elmya, an energetic, Spain-based company that draws deeply from its well of electrical contracting heritage, has some invigorating news. To that end, they created their own new joint venture— Elmantic — with Atlantica Sustainable Infrastructure as their new partner. This new effort comes at a pivotal moment for the U.S. electric power sector. The pace of change and growth in the sector is unprecedented. Elmya started in 1966 as a small local contractor. Today, it has grown into one of the world’s leaders in renewable energy, has successfully connected more than 3GW of projects around the globe.

Carlos Piñar, managing director of Elmya, underscored the strategic nature of this partnership. With the incoming Biden Administration, Fischer emphasized that the United States is one of the largest and most dynamic energy markets in the world. This new endeavor is designed to take advantage of the continued possibilities offered by the ongoing smart revolution in the power sector.

A Strategic Partnership

The Elmantic joint venture is a big deal for both companies. Elmya has worked hard for almost sixty years to develop and secure their reputation as a trustworthy player in the renewable energy world. Atlantica is a sustainable infrastructure investor and manager, with operations spanning North America, Europe and South America. Piñar stressed the need for Elmantic’s creation at this crucial juncture of transition and expansion for the U.S. electric sector. He wants America’s growing economy powered by renewable energy—and he sees clean energy as one of the key drivers of America’s much-needed economic growth.

This partnership is a shining example of both companies’ deep commitments to sustainability and innovation. Collectively, they are uniquely positioned to capture the increasing momentum for renewable energy present in the U.S. marketplace.

Future Growth Plans

Looking forward Elmya intends to quickly grow its own personnel to continue fostering the creative work of the Elmantic joint venture. By 2025, the firm expects to hire about 70 new employees, allowing them to expand their operations and work on larger projects. This expansion will enable the implementation of ambitious renewable energy programs that we anticipate will result from this alliance.

As for Colin Mott, President of Yaw Automotive, he touted his company’s commitment to green practices. He continued, “We are determined to maintain Elmya’s hard-won, 60-year reputation for reliability, transparency and long-term seriousness towards their working communities.”

The overall forecast for the U.S. economy is for continued expansion, with renewable energy leading the way on this growth. Both Elmya and Atlantica are excited to build upon this momentum as they launch their collaborative journey through Elmantic.
