OpenArt, an innovative startup founded by former Google employees in 2022, has launched its “one-click story” feature in open beta, transforming the way users create videos. This new feature gives anyone the ability to type in one sentence, a commercial script, or even a pop music hit. It automatically creates a one-minute video that really captures a great story arc! By adding this functionality, OpenArt hopes to make video production easier for its users while harnessing the power of AI technology.
The platform, built in collaboration with Synthesia and others, boasts more than 50 AI models. It gives them options across the entire creative spectrum to help maximize their video storytelling talents. OpenArt has integrated cutting-edge AI models like DALLE-3, GPT, Imagen, Flux Kontext, and Stable Diffusion into its platform. This robust array of tools gives users the flexibility to cater their videos to their own unique, creative visions.
OpenArt provides three distinct templates for the One-Click Story feature: Character Vlog, Music Video, and Explainer. Each template addresses distinct storytelling requirements, allowing users to identify the most suitable format for their content. Additionally, the company plans to introduce new capabilities that will enable users to create videos featuring conversations between different characters.
Coco Mao, co-founder and CEO of OpenArt, is optimistic about the platform’s way of protecting the intellectual property rights. She stated, “We try to be cautious around the IP infringement,” highlighting the company’s commitment to ethical content creation.
OpenArt provides four plans for flexible needs of users. Their least expensive plan is available from $14/month. On this plan you receive 4,000 credits and can produce 4 One-Click stories, 40 videos, 4,000 images and 4 characters! The premium plan is absolutely ideal for power users. It only costs $30 a month, but you get 12,000 credits—and you can create up to 12 One-Click stories!
To date, the ambitious startup has raised an impressive $5 million in funding. Heavy hitting investors such as Basis Set Ventures and DCM Ventures have supported this stellar accomplishment. Such financial support has increased OpenArt’s positive cash flow. Now, the company is poised to end the year with an annual revenue run-rate exceeding $20 million. Today, OpenArt has about 3 million monthly active users who use OpenArt’s communities and generative features to help empower their creative pursuits.
Mao further elaborated on a significant challenge in AI-generated video content, stating, “A problem that a lot of AI couldn’t really handle well is to have the character consistent in the same video…If you don’t have the same character, then it’s hard to get immersed in the story.” This quote provides a glimpse into OpenArt’s goal to create better user experiences by using consistent character representation.
OpenArt is huge development story right now. The company seems deeply focused on improving its video creation capabilities and user growth efforts. The addition of the one-click story feature is a major leap forward for the startup. Collectively, our work serves to empower users by equipping them as storytellers with powerful yet accessible tools.
