Gruve.ai is poised to storm the otherwise-legacy IT consultancy and services sector. For one, we have a revolutionary approach to client billing and service delivery. A diverse and accomplished team, headed by Nepal-American CEO Tarun Raisoni, formed Gruve. They are on a mission to change the way consulting services are delivered and priced. The tech firm was eventually able to close a $20 million Series A financing round, led by Mayfield Fund. This increases its total funding to an eye-popping $37.5 million.
Unlike typical consultancies, whose business model is to charge clients by the hour, Gruve works on retainer. In the early implementation phase of any solutions, Gruve won’t charge its clients anything. Customers will only pay when the AI systems deployed by Gruve identify and study a security intrusion. This way, they’re not paying for things that aren’t needed or create value. This creative model reduces the burden of extensive consultant teams. It implements AI agents to automate tedious tasks such as identifying security threats and supporting migration from on-prem CRM infrastructure to cloud-hosted CRM environments.
Gruve’s technology services and approach has filled a major void in the industry, stuck in their ways for decades. Raisoni spoke about the need to understand a client’s specific business workflows before trying to introduce any solutions.
“You must understand your customer’s business before you can implement because their business processes are different, their workflows are different. How they service their clients is different.” – Tarun Raisoni
Gruve is all about usage-based billing. Because of this strategy, it is able to enjoy software-like gross margins the likes of 70-80% that are starkly different from old school models. The firm expects this strategic move to draw more clients while improving profitability.
Gruve partners with industry titans including Cisco, IBM’s Red Hat, and Google. In addition, they have terrific collaborative efforts with cutting-edge AI-native startups like Glean and Supervity. The partnership network enhances its partners’ ability to deliver innovative AI solutions customized to client requirements.
Our Gruve team uses an expansive initial consultation process to determine each client’s unique AI needs. They gather required data to determine which AI applications would best support their goals, and only then do they make customized recommendations for next steps.
Raisoni pointed to AI’s power to transform the tech services industry that has been flat-lined for years.
“Technology services industry hasn’t been disrupted in the last 25 to 30 years. AI truly changes that dynamic.” – Tarun Raisoni
Mayfield’s managing partner, Navin Chaddha, praised Gruve’s model, highlighting that it allows for higher profit margins compared to traditional tech consultancies.
“Services are available on demand, the same way electricity is provided or the same way cloud computing is provided.” – Navin Chaddha
