Krisp Unveils AI-Powered Accent Conversion Feature to Bridge Communication Gaps

Krisp, the leading AI-powered audio solution, has just released an innovative feature. This new smart feature leverages AI to transform a user’s accent while on calls. This cutting-edge solution is now available in a public beta on the Krisp desktop app. Initially, the feature supports changing Indian English accents to U.S. English, marking a significant step in bridging communication gaps in global interactions.

One instance is the new policy feature, which has already been tested under stressful conditions in enterprise environments, where it performed effectively and robustly. Krisp notes an increase of 26.1% in sales conversion rates when enterprises used the accent conversion feature. Even better, revenue per booking jumped 14.8%. This AI drive solution is different than standard voice changing technologies. It preserves the speaker’s voice print while honing individual phonemes to American accent standards.

This choice was informed by India’s influence in the world STEM workforce, particularly in the area of accents. We asked Krisp’s co-founder, Arto Minasyan, to share the inspiration behind this contest.

“Many people don’t understand my accent even though I am speaking English well. We thought changing accents might help people understand each other much better. We started working on this problem two years ago and now we are releasing it in beta,” – Arto Minasyan

Additionally, the accent conversion process does not need any sort of pre-training on a user’s voice. Rather than relying on a static database of voices, it builds the unique voice of the speaker in real time to provide a smooth, lifelike experience. In creating this feature, Krisp put its model through thousands of speech samples that covered all kinds of accents and dialects. The firm data mined its meeting assistant—which had user agreement before using their data.

Looking ahead, Krisp hopes to improve support for more accents, Filipino among them. Externally, they really want to push the envelope on their own new Chrome extension. This extension will intensify integration with Google Meet and deliver users a extra cohesive communications expertise.
